This is a three-day spatial stock assessment methods workshop to evaluate methods for incorporating spatial complexity into stock assessments.
Organizers are currently looking for analysts to implement spatial population dynamic models using the modeling framework of their choice, examine the assumptions in their approach, and provide feedback on performance and potential improvements at the workshop.

11th INTERNATIONAL FLATFISH SYMPOSIUM - INTERDISCIPLINARY FISHERIES SCIENCE AND SOLUTIONS

The 11th International Flatfish Symposium will be focused on interdisciplinary research to solve persistent challenges of flatfish ecology, conservation and sustainable utilization, including climate change, essential habitat, bycatch and population structure.

This joint symposium partnered with AFS (American Fisheries Society) and TWS (The Wildlife Society) to convene a session titled "Marking, tagging, and tracking of fish and wildlife" comprised of presentations spanning from non-aquatic wildlife to both freshwater and marine fisheries.
