It communicates the professional activities and accomplishments of AIFRB, its Districts and members; results of current research; effects on management unusual biological events; maters affecting the profession; political problems; and other matters of importance to the fishery sciences and conservation community.

JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF FISHERY RESEARCH BIOLOGISTS will be an electronic journal initiated late IN 2008. It will be a peer-reviewed, open access journal that provides an outlet for research, methods, and topical discussion relevant to the mission of the Institute. The Journal invites papers that address research findings and management analyses relevant to fishery and aquatic resources and their conservation. The scope includes examples from freshwater, estuarine and marine systems. Proceedings of Institute sponsored symposia will constitute an important part of the Journal and must meet the publication standards set for regular journal submissions.
